Snapchat Halloween Cake

While researching Snapchat SocialAR filters and testing the Image Marker tracking capabilities, we created a unique ‘edible augmented reality’ Halloween cake. 

Snapchat Lens Studio was used to build a custom Filter effect, tied to a tracking marker. The custom image marker design was printed onto edible icing sheets and added to the top of the cake. When viewed through Snapchat, the Lens Effect tracked the edible marker which triggered a 3D snarling evil pumpkin displayed on top of the cake.  

The super-spooky Snapchat Halloween cake was a big hit that lead to several more ‘edible augmented reality’ effects, as well as 1000s of views, likes and shares on social.
